San Juan beach

It is only 8 km away from San Fernando city, just hop a jeepney bound to san Gabriel or Bacnotan and ask to be dropped off in San juan. Along the national hi-way, resorts, restaurants, and bars are scattered in the area. Hearing the name of this place makes your adrenaline high with lots of activities you can experience in the so called elyu paradise. You can do water and sand sports activities, tasting different cuisine and having lots of parties to enjoy. Bacnotan beach

The new attraction of the province. A 16-km black sand beach because of its large amount of magnetite, but some portion of the seashore have pebble and lime stone deposit. It is 14 kilometers away from san Fernando city. Bacnotan has a holcim cement factory located at barangay quirino and beside the factory is a surfable beach. Surfers discovered the area because of its inconsistency wave that is also good for surfing. The municipal town is now advertising and developing the spot so that travelers can totally explore the la union pride.

 

Pebble beach

A 45 minute of travel from the city located at the municipality of luna. A shoreline full of pebbles. It is the main source of living of the locals where they pick and sorts different kind of stones and sell it according to their sizes and colors. Reaching this destination might amazed you because of the scenery of the coastline. Along the shoreline you can easily notice the Baluarte Watch tower, one of the historical sights of the province.

 

Immuki island

Immuki island or formerly known as Kaparingitan by the locals, intriguing? Well, the island is 24 km away from the city, another discovered destination located at barangay paraoir,balaoan. The name of the island derives from a sea slugs (immuki) that can only thrive on the dead corals (paringit) but It has also been associated with the female private area “uki” in ilokano because of its shape. A hidden paradise connected by the two lagoons with a crystal-clear water. It’s so clear you can even see fish swimming that invites you to explore the island.
