For the artists, participating in AMJ 2022 represents another milestone in their illustrious careers so far. “It’s another achievement in my journey as an artist to be featured in Art Moments Jakarta. I hope more people appreciate digital art as much as other types of art, and experience the fun of collecting NFTs,” said DIELA. For Tommy Chandra, NFTs share a fitting intersection with the theme of AMJ. “NFTs is the next technology that really defines the concept of “Continuity’. It continues the idea of combining technology and art. The smart contract and royalty setup of NFTs help artists solve traditional issues,” he shared.

Visitors will be gifted an NFT at the live-minting experience onsite. A similar activation was carried out by the TZ APAC team at Art Basel Hong Kong earlier this year.

In collaboration with akaSwap, an NFT platform based on Tezos, the six artists were commissioned to create three artworks each for this unique exhibition. Visitors will be gifted an edition of one of the artworks on display when they participate in a live-minting experience onsite facilitated by the TZ APAC team, who have carried out similar best-in-class activations across the region including the Tezos exhibition at Art Basel Hong Kong earlier this year. The NFT will be minted and stored in a Tezos blockchain wallet that can be created within a few easy clicks.

Commenting on the upcoming exhibition, TZ APAC Head of Marketing Jivan Tulsiani said: “Southeast Asian and Indonesian artists are actively embracing digital artworks in the form of NFTs, which have enabled them to reach new audiences, be fairly compensated for their artwork and be positive changemakers for their communities. We look forward to celebrating the spirit of innovation in today’s art space at Art Moments Jakarta. The Tezos exhibition welcomes everyone keen on enjoying the creations of some of the region’s top artists in the Tezos ecosystem, collecting a memorable NFT and understanding more about the medium.”

In addition to the physical exhibition, the NFT Art Prized Moments II NFT competition was also held in the build up to Art Moments Jakarta. Winners of the competition, all of whom have created NFTs on akaSwap, will have their artwork exhibited in various spaces outside the Tezos exhibition. Visitors can also look forward to insightful panel discussions such as “The Future of NFTs” which will host discussions between experts such as Tommy Chandra and TZ APAC’s Head of Growth David Tng. The panel will take place on 5 November 2022, from 7pm to 8.30pm Jakarta time.
